L’ancetre acadien, Jean-Claude Landry, aarrive a Port Royal vers 1640.
Perrine Bourg, veuve, 67 ans, Claude Landry 33, Marguerite Theriot, sa femme, 26, Magdelaine 8, Marie 6, Claude 3, Marguerite 1 an.
English Translation
Claude Landry, navigator, was born in Port Royal, Acadia, in 1746, son of
Joseph Landry and Jeanne Robichaud, 16 October 1770, in the Notre Dame des
Victoires a Quebec, el wife Helene, daughter of Charles Dugas and Anne
LeBlanc of Tracadieche, and they had 14 children. He died in Carleto in
1803, age 58 years.
Jean Landry, born in Port Royal Acadia, in 1754 son of Joseph Landry and
Jeanne Robichaud, married on 6 May 1776, a Tracadieche, Martha, daughter
of Charles Dugas and Anne LeBlanc and they had eight children. It is a
decded Carleton in 1813, age 60 years.
Bona Arsenault suppose the Landry family is from the roadway, near Loudun,
department of the Vienna region of Poitou-Charentes.
We believe that family rather than just the Ventrouze, near
Mortagne-au-Perche, Porn, department of Pouest of France, in the region of
Lower Normandy.
The Acadian ancestor, Jean-Claude Landry, aarrive in Port Royal around
1640. He came to The Ventrouze, with several members of his family, his
daughter rejoinder, Marguerite Landry, married to Robert Martin, an
Acadian and living for several years. It seems that the family arrived
Landry on one of these two buildings, the Holy Françoys or Saint John.
Jean-Claude Landry Marie Sallee arrives with his second wife, and son,
Rene Landry said the younger, age six. It is accompanied by three other
children born to a previous marriage: Perrine, 29 years old, already
married a Jacques Geoffriau and twins aged 22 years, Rene said Aine and
Anthoinette. The latter married, in 1641, Anthoine Bourg, the ancestor of
Bourg Carleton. The same year, one of the girls born first marriage of
Mary Sallee, Michelle Aucoin, Michel epouse Boudrot, Boudreau Pancetre of
Carleton.
Contrary to what the brother Antoine Bernard says, the Landry Carleton
descendent of Rene Landry, eit groin, a married Perrine Bourg, not Rene
Landry, eit the younger, married a Marie Bernard.
Rene Landry, eit groin, not a La Ventrouze in 1618, spouse, a Port Royal
in 1645, Perrine Bourg, widow of Simon Pelletret, who died at Port Royal
in 1644. Perrine Bourg came to Acadia in 1632 with her parents and
brother, Anthoine. The widow Pelletret has three children during her
marriage with Rene Landry, Henriette Jeanne and Simon.
The census of Port Royal in 1671, Reme Landry laboreur and Perrine Bourg,
have seven children. The census indicates that Rene Landry Lesne (sic) has
twelve acres of land in labor.
In 1686 when a second census in Port Royal, DIED Rene Landry and Perrine
Bourg remains with his son, Claude (Charles) Landry, not on 1663 and
married in 1683 a Maguerite Terriot, daughter of Claude and
Marie-Francoise Gauterot : Perrine Bourc 74 years, Claude Landry, 26
years. Terriot and Marguerite, 20, a daughter, Marguerite, 18 months, 7
bestes a cornes, 8 sheep.
But Perrine Bourg was in fact 60 years old and his first daughter named
Madeleine. There appears to be several errors in the ages and names in
this census. The 1692 census is more accurate:
Perrine Bourg, widow, age 67, Claude 33 Landry, Marguerite Theriot,
his wife, 26, Magdelaine 8, Marie 6, Claude 3, Marguerite 1 year.
Joseph Landry, youngest son of Claude (Charles) and Marguerite Landry
Terriot, not June 19 1713, married at Port Royal, on 6 October 1734, Jane
Robichaud, daughter of Prudent Robichaud and Henriette Petitpas. This last
is the daughter of Claude Petitpas Mr. Lafleur, the court freffier Port
Royal. Joseph Landry and Jeanne Robichaud had ten children do not and Jean
Claude Landry, our pioneer has Tracadieche.
When large-derangement - the family of Joseph Landry was transported to
Massachusetts. Around 1767, Joseph Landry and one of his son, Florent, a
move vienment Deschambault. Uses, devastation by deprivation and suffering
of wandering, they found a tomb there. Joseph Landry deceded in 1768, and
Florent Landry in 1774. They are listed in memento of martyrs Acadian
Deschambault.
Florent Landry, Marie Deschambault 18 January 1773, without a doubt lives
Tracadieche for some time. Indeed, on 13 November 1773, the failure of his
wife, Marguerite Gregoire, is the act of baptism of his nephew, Nicolas
Landry, son of Claude and Helene Landry Dugas:
(...) The sponsor was Joseph LeBlanc, the godmother Marguerite
Gregoire both of this (sic) place.
Rebecca and Marguerite-Marie Landry, daughter of Joseph Landry and Jeanne
Robichaud, combine families and Rivard Hamelin Deschambault. Marie-Modeste
Euphrosine and Landry are the ancestors of the maternal family Loubert
Guite and the Bay of Chaleur.
Claude Landry, age nine years during the dispersion, has returned to
Quebec with his family to 1767. His contract of marriage with Helene
Dugas, he married a Quebec on 16 October 1770, tells us that it is browser
al'emploi Raymond Bourdages Bonaventure. It was Tracadieche shortly after
her marriage. In 1784, it occupies a lot of three acres in front, the
match is part of lot number 42. His neighbors, east, his step-brother
Charles Dugas, eet west, Charles Landry, respectively occupying the lot 43
and Part Lot 42 oust. Lot 41, the largest Carleton with nine arpents
front, is occupied by Antoine Aimond.
